Description

The Ina Mae Murri papers document her work securing LGBTQ and women’s rights within the Mormon Church. The papers mostly consist of correspondence and newsletters related to her activism.

Hist/Bio Note

Ina Mae Murri was born in 1935 in Idaho. After a brief stint in the military, she moved to Los Angeles and in 1967 began working with Affirmation: Gay & Lesbian Mormons as well as with Mormons for ERA. She spent the rest of her life working with LGBTQ and feminist groups within the Mormon Church. In 1980, she met her partner, Stella Lopez-Armijo who helped Murri found the group Lavender Seniors.
