Description

The Bonita Ann Palmer papers document her activism from 1980-2010 for LGBTQ rights in the Episcopal Church. The papers include newsletters, clippings, personnel records, correspondence, reports, and pastoral letters. Most of the materials relate to Parsonage in the Castro, the first GLBT ministry supported as an Episcopal Diocesan institution.

Hist/Bio Note

Dr. Bonita Ann Palmer is a life-long Episcopalian who has advocated for LGBT rights and feminism in the church. She has worked for marriage equality, women’s ordination, and to eliminate anti-gay violence. Palmer was involved with Parsonage in the Castro and with Integrity, both Episcopal-affiliated organizations that have worked for LGBTQ inclusion.
